As I mentioned in my first post Indian Passport Renewal Misery at High Commission of India that amongst those visiting HCI London and queuing up are not only ordinary and law abiding citizen but also the unwanted elements of the society.
My theory didn’t take long to be proved to be true. It was my second visit to HCI London that I cam face to face with one such person.
RPO Bangalore asked me to visit HCI London office to reapply for the Indian Passport renewal. Even knowing that there is no such thing as reapply for the passport renewal I had no option but to visit High commission of India, London only to waste my time and not to mention money. I had to take a day off my work.
What happened inside the High Commission of India, London office at Aldwych was something more interesting and shocking than just humiliation. In every visit you will have to face humiliation on top of the traumatic 3-4 hours of standing in queue and waiting.
Here is interesting part..
I was standing inside the HCI London office at counter No. 7, which is the counter where one of the chief clerk humiliates you. If you are visiting HCI London office then you will have to pay a visit to counter No. 7 for one reason or another. There is no way to avoid it.
In front of me there as a person who was engaged in a heated discussion with the chief clerk. He was staying in the UK for past 35 years with an old and expired Indian passport and he wanted to get it renewed. However he couldn’t provide address proof matching his name in the passport and hence this person and chief clerk were engaged in question-clarification session.
When my patience ran out somehow I uttered “Dekho inako 35 saal ho gaye aur passport nahi hai” (35 yeeas has passed and he is without passport). It was sarcastic statement addressed to no one but loud enough to be heard by the person standing behind me.
And out of no where this person replied “Choro usako yeh dekho fake passport” (Forget that check this out – fake passport“.
I turned back and looked at this person and the fake Indian passport which he was proudly holding in his hands. This passport clearly looked fake. It was in faded color, the cover was in light greenish color and not as dark as Original Indian passports are. He also opened it and showed me everything, the first page, pohoto, fake (?) signature of Indian High commission officials, addresses and others. He also explained what is missing from this passport.
In hi sown words
“Ashoka kj Mohar nahi hai” – Ashoka’s emblem is missing
“Iska color faded hai” – color is faded
“Isake alawa sab kuch theek thak hai” – Rest all are ok
I was shocked and surprise to see how a person could dare to bring fake Indian passport inside High commission of India building and show no shame in exposing it to others. His words were loud and he didn’t show his hesitation in explaining why he was there inside the High Commission of India building with a fake passport.
I looked at this person and try to guess what he could be. He was an average pulp rough looking person and it didn’t take me long to guess that he is from the Underworld. He also had his associates with him inside the High commission of India building who also looked like Mafia.
Here is his story told to me in his own words in Hindi which I’ve summarized in English.
Mera £50,000 fansa hua hai. Yeh saale mera passport renew nahi ker rahi hain. Mera pass koi aur chara nahi that to humane fake passport liya. Ek dalal ko £500 diye and fir yeh passport liya. Fir maine inako call kiya aur bola ki agar mera passport renew nahi karoge to mein fake passport le lunmga. Yeh passport walon ni reply diya – to le lo. Fir meine CBI aur Interpol ko inform kiye Interpol ne MEA ko inform kia fir inhone passport kle saath yahan aane ko bola.
Then I asked
Kahan se liaye yeh fake passport.
He replied
Kahi se bhi mil jayega, Hounslow, Southall, Wembley, Ealing … £500 kharch karo aur turant mil jayga.
“Tumane kahan se liya” I enquired.
“South hall se” he replied.
I didn’t engage further with him as I had to deal my own affair with High Commission.
To sum up here is his story.
Somehow he was involved in some kind of money deal and he said that his money is stuck somewhere and he has to get his passport renewed but, as usual, High commission of India are not renewing his passport.
So he has to take some drastic action in acquiring a fake Indian passport for £500 from South Hall and then he tried to put pressure on High commission of India officials to get his passport renewed. When he called High Commission and informed the availability of fake passport he got very interesting reply.
According to his person when he called High Commission of India and informed them that it is so easy to get fake Indian passport he was informed to get the fake passport and forget about passport renewal.
This person then, as he told me, called CBI and Interpol and informed them about the fake passport scandal, and how easy it was to obtain it in London streets. Somehow High commission of India officials acted whether they were under pressure from Interpol or Ministry of Home Affairs they called this person to come with fake passport to meet them and so here he was standing inside High Commission of India office with fake Indian Passport.
Boy! that was quite an incident.
Everyone knows it and it is well proven fact that fake Indian passport scandals are everywhere but you never come close to it in day to day life.
I’m sure that if you spend more money you can get a real Indian passport which looks real and which is real in all the sense and unlike this fake Indian passport which I saw on that day.
In £500-£1000 you can get a real Indian passport obtained fraudulently.

I’m not surprised either. It goes everywhere in India. Everyone knows that fake Indian passports are available everywhere where you can find Indian community. Blame everything to these corrup Indian officials. The whole fucking Ministry of External Affiars is corrupt.

MEA – Ministry of External Affairs has some fucking special powers which it utilizes to bend fucking the very own constitution which brings this department into existence.
They know the game very well, they fuck our lives and they know clearly that it will takes month and years to waste before they can be fixed by court.

I was a little surprised that even in London, our Indian Babu’s have not changed. They are rude, snobby and beleive in putting off others for no reason. Such a pity!

Don’t be surprised, the environment inside High Commission Of India London office is worse than than that of inside Vidhan Sudha at Bangalore.
Even in Bangalore the babus will not be so rude. I’ve seen all such babus from bottom to top. From chaparasi to secretary to CM. Even they wouldn’t be so rude.
But in this fucking HCI London office they are rude for a reason. They know that we can’t touch them. Fucking impotent and coward hide behind thick glass and bark like toothless dog.
Have they been in India and showing such rudeness they would have been smacked and given a nice lesson on how to behave with other human beings.
If someone else had told me above I wouldn’t have believed him. But all of above I saw from my own eyes and heard from my own ears and not to mention I WAS ONE OF THE VICTIM.

Its true that fake Indian passports are open for sale in UK. UK is flourishing with honour and pride. And that’s not all UK’s entire legal machinery including Scotland yard honours these fake passports with grace. Now India should start producing fake British Passports, fake British Currency and teach them a lesson, if they do not stop passport factories in UK.

You got it wrong buddy. UK has nothing to do with Fake Indian Passports. These are Indians (read Criminals) who operate the whole fake Indian passport business.
The first reason for the existence of fake Indian passport is the criminal activities.
The another reason why this business flourish is the incompetency and corruption in the High Commission of India London office. What one will do if they refuse to renew passport? You will have no option but to get a fake passport as you are helpless in foreign country to do anything.

One question. Is the passport in the photo u’ve attached with the article is fake??
Actually, I live in Barcelona. One of my uncles came here from Germany last year. He’s illegal here in Europe & his passport was expired from 2009, i think.
He applied for the new one this year. Well, an “agent” did so in the change of 250 euros. (indian embassy makes very difficult to renew a passport for an illegal)
It took about 3 months and at last he is given a passport (the agent hand it over to him, we didnt recieve it by post). I compared it with another passports of my family (original, surely) n noted some diferences:
- the emblem on the cover is smaller than the other passports (as in the photo u’ve attached is smaller too).
- there is no section for ECNR on te second page as other passports.
- The colour is the same, but the “original” cover’s texture is smoother. (even, i did it with closed eyes :P)
- There’s a light diference in the ” backgroung design” of the pages.
- Another thing, my sister passport was made in the last of april this year….n its numbe is E5…… but the passport in question was made in May, n its number starts with a K.
Now i dont know if they’ve changed the format of the passport and how do they number the passports.
And where do we should go to ask if it’s original or fake??
The poor guy was very happy, because he collected all the requirements for the legal permission her and was just waiting to have his passport and apply.
Thank you!!

Gurpreet,
The passport image in this post is real one, this is my own fucking Indian passport.
I’m not sure how your uncle is going to cross border with fake Indian passport? He will be surely caught in India if he manage to cross European immigration checks.
The fake passport is really fake no matter how good it is copied. You can tell it without blinking your eyes. And also the fake Indian passports “manufactured” in Europe are more fake than those manufactured in India.
I’ll say if you really want to get a good fake Indian passport then try to obtain it from Delhi or North India. They are really good in making fake Indian passport ;)
If you have been watching TV news for fake passport racket bust stories then you will probably see the passports recovered, they look more real.

Don’t mess with law man, owning a fake passport is federal offence. You will get screwed. Like any law abiding citizen follow the law and your life will be peaceful.
You don’t need to prove that you are Indian. Just stand in front of any one doubting your identity and grin, shake head and he will stamp Indian on you ;)

hey Guys, this is not fake passport. It must be something like this, someone must be knowing someone in the passport office and he must be paying 100 to that person and this person must be making a genuine passport but out of line, something like a genuine fake passport. because getting the paper printed is difficult and the signature and stuff like that would be next to impossible. This must be some bribing scandal.

i renewed my passport on same day by paying additional 100 GBP..i went there around 10AM Morning on this Monday..got token no: 273 and waitied for my token number to be called ..they called at 12:30 my number.requested for tatkal and said story like i came from long and have visa extension in next 10 days and i cannot come back to collect so…finally he accepted and asked me come at 2PM to pay additional tatkal fee (100 GBP)..had my lunch at Kings Kebab(worst place to eat) and went back to passport office at 2 PM..he called me around 2:30 ..paid the fee..he asked me to come at 4-5 PM to collect passport.then came out of that place to explore tubes (had oyster card, so took tube and spend time till 4 PM) and come back at 4:30 and waiting for name to be called..they didn;’t call my name till 6 PM..only 3 people left and he asked me why did u here..i said for my passport and applied tatkal today..then he said sorry and he gave me the passport..actually he kept my passport aside and forgot to call my name..,,but its ok..i got my passport without any hassles..Thanks to Indian embassy..my advice is don’t go early and wait in queue..go before 12, u will get token,,they will finish their tokens at any cost on that day..if u go there after 12, they won’t give tokens..that’s it

I live in new delhi and you can easily get a passport without address problems within 10 days legally…but it costs about 10-15k but its hassle free….getting a real passport in india is not that easy…i applied for the passport in RPO bhopal..it was a normal passport application and the police was enquiring as if i m the biggest criminal and they were just delaying it and delaying it…sometimes you feel like you are just losing you patience…in singapore you can get a passport within 2 days…shame on the ministry of external affairs..they appoint IFS officers for the help of the local people but they forget that they are for the people
